Joining the Madness

Session 3 of March Madness is being held at The Palace of Auburn Hills, in Auburn Hills, MI and the action will start at 12:10 with Bradley vs Pittsburgh and is followed by Northwestern State vs West Virginia. I will be in attendance at The Palace for both of these games.

Bradley vs Pittsburgh should be a good game to watch and I have choosen this game to analyze and make a pick on.

The Pittsburgh Panthers held a 10-6 record in Big East play and a 25-7 overall record. As a #5 seed they defeated # 12 Kent State in round one of the NCAA tournament, 79-64. The Panthers are lead by senior Carl Krauser and junior Aaron Gray. Gray scored 17 against Kent State and Ronald Ramon put up 16 as well. Krauser put up 11 and is averaging close to 15 points a game.

The #13 seeded Bradley Braves upset the #4 Kansas Jayhawks, 77-73 in round one. The Braves held a 11-7 record in the Missouri Valley Conference and a 21-10 record overall. The Braves are lead by senior forward Marcellus Sommerville, center Patrick O'Bryant, and guard Tony Bennett. They average 15, 13, and 10 points respectively.

Bradley capitialized on Kansas having a bad first half. Krauser should match up O'Bryant, with both players being 7 feet tall. Krauser should have the skill advantage in this matchup. That leaves Ronald Ramon and Aaron Gray, which will most likely be too much for Bradley.

Final: Bradley 72 Pitt 66
